Mickey Raphael: Long-time harmonica player for Willie Nelson & Family BandLong time harmonica player for Willie Nelson & Family band

A native of Texas, Mickey Raphael grew up around the rich music scene of Dallas. As a teenager he got a little impromptu coaching from legendary blues harmonica player Don Brooks, and, as he says, "just  jumped about 20 steps from the little I already knew about the harp." After many more hours onstage, a chance meeting with Willie Nelson led to an invitation to sit in on a local gig, which eventually led to permanent membership in Willie's band. Over the last 30-plus years, Mickey has performed on hundreds of sessions with Willie, Kenny Chesney, Vince Gill. Ringo Starr, Emmylou Harris, Norah Jones, Asleep at the Wheel, Merle Haggard, Elton John, Blue Öyster Cult, and many more. Mickey's 1988 solo album "Hand To Mouth" was reissued again in 2000. @ http://www.allmusic.com/artist/mickey-raphael-p34478/credits
